If you are in your 50s, you may notice a gradual loss of skin elasticity and the appearance of wrinkles on your face.  Addressing sagging skin and facial wrinkles from the root cause is crucial.  For those experiencing significant facial skin sagging, a facelift surgery may be recommended. During this surgery, the surgeon creates an incision that starts above the ears in the hairline, continues down and around the front of the ears, and ends behind the ears in the lower scalp.  Following the procedure, noticeable improvements can be seen in your drooping cheeks, mouth corners, nasolabial folds, and chin.  The result can last for a long time since both the facial skin and fascia are lifted altogether.  After a facelift, the surgical area is less noticeable than eye surgery as it can be concealed with your hair. 

Lateral canthoplasty is a surgical option suitable for individuals with small or close-set eyes.  Many patients express concerns about the possibility of tissue re-adhesion at the corners of the eyes following this procedure. Yes, there is a possibility of re-adhesion. However, it's essential to note that skilled surgeons always take this into consideration during the procedure.  Additionally, in cases where both lateral canthoplasty and lower canthoplasty are performed simultaneously, the risk of re-adhesion is reduced. This combined approach not only enlarges the eyes horizontally and vertically but also minimizes the likelihood of tissue sticking back together. We strongly advise consulting with a highly experienced plastic surgeon before considering any eye surgery to address concerns and explore the most suitable options.

Many clients choose to have surgical and non-surgical treatments simultaneously.  Among those considering both, some wondered whether it is possible to undergo double eyelid surgery only 1 month after receiving forehead Botox injection.  Is there any relation between forehead Botox and double eyelid surgery? And is it possible to proceed with the surgery shortly after a forehead Botox treatment?  Forehead Botox is a procedure designed to reduce forehead wrinkles by temporarily paralyzing the frontalis muscles. Following the treatment, you may experience a sensation of heaviness in the eye area and notice droopiness in your eyebrows. If you are contemplating double eyelid surgery after getting Botox, it is advisable to wait at least 6 months before scheduling the surgery.  Additionally, it is crucial to check the duration of the Botox effects and consult with your surgeon before considering the eyelid surgery. 

We always advise our patients to avoid saunas for about a week after undergoing laser treatment, even though it's a simple procedure. But why? Well, after laser treatment, your skin is a bit irritated. Even if you can't see any bruises, there are tiny wounds on your skin. Exposing these wounds to high heat, like in a sauna, increases the risk of infection or inflammation. For optimal results and a smooth recovery, we suggest not using saunas or intense workouts during the first week after laser treatment.

Lifting procedures are effective for lifting sagging skin and improving elasticity.  Many clients inquire about the possibility of undergoing another lifting treatment shortly after their first session. So, is it advisable to have lifting treatments in quick succession? If the redness on the skin has disappeared after the initial treatment, it is generally acceptable to have more sessions. However, the noticeable effects may be limited. Lifting procedures exert strong stimulation on the skin, and undergoing frequent treatments may risk further damage. Therefore, the most effective approach is to receive treatments at regular intervals.

During consultations with us, many clients inquire about the possibility of raising their nose bridge and tip to their desired extent. So, how high can the nose be raised? The appropriate height of the nose bridge and tip is determined based on your overall facial proportions and the shape of your nose. When performing rhinoplasty, the surgeon considers more than just the height and shape. It is crucial to find a height that compliments your facial features and contributes to creating a balance for your face. Consulting with a plastic surgeon is essential to determine the ideal nose height that suits you perfectly and enhances the overall harmony of your face.

Upper blepharoplasty is a cosmetic procedure designed to address excess skin in the upper eyelids, which can impact vision.  Despite having undergone upper blepharoplasty once, the eyelids may sag again over time due to the aging process. This raises the question: Is it possible to have a second upper blepharoplasty? The eyes age rapidly, and even if excess skin has been removed in a previous surgery, the upper lids may experience sagging once more. In such cases, a second upper eyelid surgery can be considered.  However, it is crucial to consult with a plastic surgeon before making any decisions regarding a second surgery.

This procedure involves the use of micro-needles to stimulate the skin, making proper aftercare crucial for enhanced skin regeneration. Is it possible to have them removed with laser? If you're wondering how to remove large or raised moles, laser treatment is an effective option. However, if the mole is too large or protrudes out of the skin, mole removal surgery is recommended. Mole removal surgery involves delicately excising the mole and closing the area with sutures. For larger moles, it may be necessary to undergo 2 - 3 surgical sessions at 6-month interval. After mole removal, it is essential to apply waterproof tape for about a week and avoid strenuous exercises and saunas for 2-3 weeks following stitches removal. Keep in mind that the size of the mole determines the visibility of the scar after surgery. Fortunately, the scar gradually fades away with time, so here's no need to be overly concerned. 

Many clients express a desire to undergo plastic surgery and other treatments simultaneously. Some wonder if it’s possible to have double eyelid surgery one month after getting forehead Botox injections.  Will getting forehead Botox before a double eyelid surgery affect the surgical outcome?  Forehead Botox is a treatment aimed at improving wrinkles by relaxing the frontalis muscles. After the procedure, you may experience a sensation of heaviness in your eyes, and your eyebrows may sag. This is particularly true for those who have the habit of using frontalis muscles while opening their eyes. It is advisable to wait for at least 6 months after a forehead Botox injection before considering double eyelid surgery. Botox typically lasts for 3 to 6 months, depending on the product. Once the Botox effect has subsided, usually after this period, consult with a plastic surgeon before scheduling your double eyelid surgery. 

Patients often wonder about when they can get laser treatment after eye plastic surgeries such like double eyelid surgery, upper blepharoplasty, or lower blepharoplasty. So, how soon after eye surgery is it safe to have laser treatment?  The recommended timeframe is 2-3 weeks after the stitches are removed. Starting laser treatment earlier may pose the risk of inflammation.  For optimal results and a comfortable experience, it's crucial to keep this timing in mind when scheduling your laser treatment.

Many individuals in their 20s and 30s express concerns about dark circles during consultations with plastic surgeons. What causes dark circles and how can they be treated?  Treatment for dark circles varies depending on the underlying cause. If an individual simply has excess under-eye fat tissues, the protruding fat under eyes can be improved to some extent with lower eyelid fat removal surgery.  Lower eyelid fat removal surgery involves creating an incision in the conjunctiva behind the lower eyelid margin using laser. Since the incision is not made on the skin, there is not a visible scar. The incision is closed with dissolvable sutures, thus no post-operative treatment is required.  On the other hand, for those who have not only excess fat under the eyes but also hollow tear troughs, combining lower eyelid fat removal with under-eye fat repositioning surgery is an effective solution. The Up thread lift is a remarkably effective procedure designed to address sagging skin and wrinkles around the mouth as well as create a chiseled jawline. This straightforward yet effective procedure has become increasingly popular among our clients. Many clients wish to undergo the Up thread lift and laser treatment on the same day to save time. Would this be possible? No, we do not recommend undergoing the Up thread lift and laser treatments on the same day. Having laser treatment immediately after a thread lift may potentially irritate the skin, increasing the risk of infection.  Additionally, there is a possibility that the laser could impact or dissolve the threads inserted during the lift. For optimal results, it is advisable to wait approximately one month after your thread lift before getting laser treatments.

Fat grafting is a surgical procedure where your own fat is transferred from one area of the body to your face, restoring facial volume naturally.  However, it is advisable not to apply cold compresses after fat grafting. What is the reason for this? Applying cold compresses to the fat grafting area may inhibit blood circulation, reducing the survival rate of grafted fat. Therefore, your should avoid using cold compresses after this procedure.  Besides, eating pumpkin juice or pumpkin porridge helps reduce swelling after the fat grafting procedure. Foods containing pumpkin have a diuretic effect, thus aiding in the removal of waste from the body. One thing to keep in mind is that your face may look slightly unnatural due to swellings for about 1 week after fat grafting. However, there is no need to worry about that since the swelling will subside gradually over time.

How long should you wait before getting a laser following the surgery? Laser treatment can be safely conducted 2-3 weeks after stitches removal following double eyelid surgery.  There is a high risk of infection if you get a laser treatment too soon after an eye surgery. This applies to upper and lower blepharoplasty procedures as well.  In conclusion, it is highly recommended that you carefully consider both the follow-up treatment and recovery periods before deciding on a laser treatment after double eyelid surgery. 

Some patients who have undergone a facelift may notice a slight sagging of their face one year after the surgery and may consider getting a thread lift.  Is it possible to further lift your face with a thread lift even if you are completely satisfied with the results of your facelift?  The answer is yes.
