A lot of our patients who do manual labor jobs have asked us when they can resume work after an eye wrinkle surgery or facelift.  So, how long after surgery should you wait to get back to work if your job involves a great deal of physical activities? If this is the case, it is recommended that you pay special attention for 1-2 weeks after stitches removal. Otherwise, the incision may get infected or opened again due to sweats.   Moreover, after surgery, you should refrain from lifting heavy stuffs for a while. 

Nose bridge surgery is a plastic surgery that increases the height of one’s nose bridge. Many people who are interested in nose bridge rhinoplasty wonder whether their eyes will look closer together after surgery.  Will this ever happen? Rhinoplasty does not reduce the distance between your eyes.  In very rare cases, the eyes may become closer together if the nose bridge is heightened too much. Many patients have asked us how soon after blepharoplasty they can get a facial.  Is it okay to stimulate the area around your eyes after surgery? You can have a basic facial 2-3 weeks after a blepharoplasty.  However, avoid massage therapies that put too much pressure on your eye area, or the incisional site may get opened again.  For more intense stimulations like Meridian massage, we recommend waiting until one month after the surgery.  Remember, meet your plastic surgeon for a post-operative progress checkup and consultation before getting a facial. 

When summer comes, many think of getting calf Botox, thus have a lot of questions about this.  However, people who have the habit of exercising regularly wonder when they can resume exercises after the treatment. So, when can you resume exercises after calf Botox? You should avoid exercises for 2 weeks following the treatment. Results can be affected by intense activities like running. Also, do not wear high heels for 2-3 weeks.   Following aftercare instructions is crucial to all types of treatment and extra care is especially required in case of calf Botox injection. Many patients have asked us about having their hair done after a plastic surgery.  They wonder when they can have their hair dyed or permed. It is recommended that you get your hair done 1 month after the treatment period.  Hair dyes and perm products can irritate your skin. Therefore, you should avoid having your hair dyed or permed until the surgical site has fully healed. Especially, facelift surgery involves incisions just behind the ears and in the hairline, so you would need to be more careful.  Remember, visit a plastic surgeon for a consultation before getting your hair colored and permed. 

Many patients start to feel concerned about swelling 1 or 2 weeks after double eyelid surgery.  You may wonder when the swellings will subside, and how long it takes for your eyes to become natural. Following an eye surgery, the speed at which the swelling and bruises disappear varies depending on one’s body constitution.  Typically, significant swelling subsides within 2-3 weeks, while residual swelling takes 3-6 months to fade away. It may last longer depending on individual’s body constitution.  After double eyelid surgery, apply cool compress for 3 days, followed by warm compress for a week. This helps with reducing swelling. Besides, it is recommended to consume foods that help reduce swelling and take occasional walks.

Dermal fillers help fill in the sunken areas of the face and improve the appearance of deep wrinkles.  However, even when using the same type of filler, the duration of results can vary depending on the treated area. What could be the reason?  The duration of fillers varies depending on the skin condition.    In areas like the eyelids with thin skin or nasolabial folds prone to frequent movement, fillers tend to be absorbed faster by the body, even when the same type of filler is injected.    On the contrary, areas with minimal movement, such as the nasal bridge or cheeks tend to have a relatively longer duration of result.  That’s why choosing the right filler for the treated area is important. Prior to filler treatment, it is crucial to consult with a plastic surgeon and select the appropriate injectable. 

V-RO is a procedure that combines ultrasound and radio frequency treatments. As an upgraded version of Doublo Gold, it is effective in lifting sagging skin. How long does the V-RO effect last as a straightforward method to enhance skin elasticity?  V-RO is recommended to be performed once every 3-4 months. When should you start applying scar ointment and how long should you use it? It is advisable to start applying Contractubex scar gel 2-3 weeks after stitches removal. You may feel a tingling sensation in the surgical site if you apply it earlier.    Scar ointment is recommended to apply for 3 to 6 months, and the scars typically fade away 6 months later. Moreover, after lower eyelid surgery, Steri strips need to be applied onto the ends of the incisions for 3 weeks. It is recommended that you apply Steri strips for at least 3 consecutive months even while sleeping.

Laser toning is applied to remove spots appearing due to aging or sun damage.  However, many patients wonder if this laser procedure removes all the pigmentation spots entirely.   Laser toning can remove all the pigmentation spots gradually and safely. In order to see a more stable result, the doctor recommends having laser toning regularly. Usually, it is advisable to have 10 sessions at 1-week intervals. After 10 sessions, blemishes and pigmentation spots might get lighter and almost unnoticeable. However, patients might be asked to repeat the procedure more than 10 times depending on the skin condition and how deep those spots are.   After 10 sessions, you should repeat the treatment once a month in order to maintain skin free of dark spots.
