You Are Concerned about Facelift Scarring?

Image
Facelift is an effective procedure to improve the appearance of facial wrinkles. It can be said that there are almost no procedures that are more effective in removing facial wrinkles than facelift. However, many patients are worried about scarring after surgery because facelift involves making long incisions. Is there a possibility of serious scarring after a facelift?  In facelift, long incisions are made in the hairline starting at the temples, continuing down and around the front of the ears, and ending behind the ears.  For a while after the surgery, you can expect the parts above and behind your ears to be red. Even so, the scars will fade and turn into white lines and become barely noticeable after about 6 months.  Scars from facelift are usually not too visible when looking from the front and can be hidden within the hairline, so you can worry less about scars compared to other surgeries. One thing you should keep in mind is that you need to follow post-operative instructions v

Do You Need to Get at Least 10 Sessions of Laser Toning?

Image
We receive a lot of inquiries about laser toning from our customers who wish to remove freckles and blemishes in summer.  Usually, we recommend getting at least 10 sessions of laser toning at 1-week intervals. However, some customers ask whether they need to undergo more than 10 treatments, or whether 2-3 treatments would be enough.  Do you need to undergo at least 10 sessions of laser toning? When it comes to freckles and dermal pigmentation, melanin pigments sit in the deeper layers of the skin.  To effectively remove the pigmentation in the deeper layers of the skin, low-intensity treatments should be done continuously. High-intensity treatment performed at one time may damage the skin barrier.  Get laser toning treatment regularly and continuously to get rid of blemishes and hyperpigmentation. After 10 sessions, it is advisable to get the treatment once a month for maintenance.

How to Get Rid of Deep Frown Lines

Image
Lines appear between your eyebrows when frowning can be improved with Botox. However, does Botox work in case these lines are there even when you are not frowning? Fine frown lines can be treated with Botox. However, it is difficult to erase deep wrinkles that are noticeable when not frowning with Botox only.  In this case, a combination of Botox and filler treatments would work. Fillers fill in deep furrows while Botox helps prevent them by relaxing muscles.  In conclusion, the treatment varies depending on how deep wrinkles are. It is important that you choose one that suits you the best.

Will Outer Eye Corners Stick Back after Lateral Canthoplasty?

Image
Lateral canthoplasty is a surgery suitable for small eyes or close-set eyes.  Some of our patients are concerned whether the tissue in the eye corners will stick back together over time. Is there a possibility of re-adhesion after a lateral canthoplasty? Yes, there is.  However, you don’t need to worry about that because the surgeon always considers the possibility of eye corners sticking back when performing the surgery. Also, there are many cases in which a lateral canthoplasty and lower canthoplasty are performed at the same time. Combining these two surgeries not only enlarges the eyes horizontally and vertically but also reduces the possibility of eye corner re-adhesion. We strongly recommend that you consult with a highly experienced plastic surgeon before planning for an eye surgery.

The Back of My Ear Protrudes after Facelift

Image
Facelift is effective in removing overall facial wrinkles.  In this procedure, a long incision is made in the hairline starting at the temples and ending behind the ear. However, there are cases in which the back of the ear sticks out after surgery. Can you just ignore it? When will it get better? The back of the ear may appear convex for a while. Not only after a facelift but also after other operations, the surgical area may become slightly convex or stiff. It will get better over time, so it is not something to worry about too much.  However, if the back of your ear severely swells or gets red, you should consult with the surgeon. These symptoms can be easily treated with prescription medications.

My Eyes Feel Heavy after Forehead Botox

Image
Forehead Botox is effective in improving the appearance of fine forehead wrinkles. However, many patients contacted us saying that they found it difficult to open their eyes and their forehead felt heavy after a forehead Botox injection.  What can you do in this situation? There is a possibility of having a heavy sensation in the treated area if it is your first forehead Botox experience.   This sensation causes more discomfort to those who have the habit of using the forehead muscle frequently. Fortunately, this feeling is temporary, and the treated area will gradually become natural after about 1 month. If you feel too uncomfortable, using a warm compression can help.

Image
There are a few questions about laser treatment that foreign customers usually ask us before travelling to Korea.  How long does the effect last after one laser treatment? How can you care for your skin when you return to your home country? What should you do when getting laser during your Korea travel?  How long the effect lasts varies according to the type of laser treatment.  For pore tightening procedures, the effect is noticeable after just one treatment. Can Epicanthoplasty Be Reversed?

Image
There are cases where the inner corners of the eyes look unnatural after an epicanthoplasty. Some patients who underwent the surgery in another clinic asked various questions regarding a revision surgery after an excessive epicanthoplasty. They wondered whether the inner corners of the eyes can return to their original appearance. Excessive epicanthoplasty can be fixed with a reconstructive epicanthoplasty.  Reconstructive epicanthoplasty can reposition not only the skin but also inner tissues of the eye corners.  However, it is difficult to restore the original shape of an epicanthal fold. It improves the appearance Mongolian crease rather than restores the inner corners of the eyes to their pre-operative state. It is important that you have a thorough consultation with a plastic surgeon before undergoing a revision surgery.

I’ve Had a Lower Blepharoplasty. Can Under-eye Fat Return?

Image
Lower blepharoplasty is a procedure to improve saggy skin and remove excess fat under the eyes. However, there is a question that we usually receive from many of our patients during consultation. They wonder whether the under-eye fat becomes saggy or not, and whether an additional lower blepharoplasty is required in that case. So, can under-eye fat return after a lower blepharoplasty? The answer is that under-eye fat can still sag again even after a lower blepharoplasty. Our bodies age and eyes are parts that age the fastest.  Therefore, an additional surgery may be necessary depending on the degree of sagging. When it comes to eye wrinkles, it is important that you consult with a plastic surgeon before deciding on undergoing the surgery because eye is an area that requires precise techniques.

Uneven Eyes after Under Eye Fat Removal Surgery

Image
Under eye fat removal surgery is effective in removing under eye bags. However, some patients asked us why the lower parts of their eyes seemed asymmetrical after surgery. Why do they look uneven? Does it mean that there were some mistakes during the surgery? No, it does not. The eyes may look asymmetrical due to swelling after surgery. Typically, it takes about 1 week for large swellings to go away and 3 to 4 weeks for your eyes to appear natural after surgery. For small swellings, the recovery period is 6 months. However, if your eyes still look uneven 6 months after the surgery, the possible reason is that the excess fat under one eye was overly removed. In this case, you should seek advice from a specialized plastic surgeon before considering a corrective surgery.

Lip Fillers Aftercare

Image
Lip fillers are injections that give the lips a more plump and beautiful appearance. They can address issues such as lip asymmetry, lip wrinkles, and thin or dull lips.  However, since lips move a lot, it is important to follow post-treatment care instructions carefully. What are the precautions to take after lip filler treatment?  On the day of the lip filler injection, avoid touching the treated area too often and refrain from consuming foods that are irritating to the lips. Especially, spicy or hot foods should be avoided. For the first week after the procedure, avoid putting excessive pressure on the lips. Using straws or engaging in long conversations may affect the shape of the lips. Also, alcohol and smoking should be avoided for at least a week. Swelling and bruising will typically subside within a week, depending on your body response.

Can Threads Break after Thread Lift?

Image
Thread lift is well known as a procedure effective for lifting sagging cheeks, wrinkles around the mouth and jawline. It is popular since it requires a relatively short treatment time as well as no post-operative treatment. However, some people who plan to have thread lift wonder if the threads break and if it is okay to open the mouth widely after the procedure. Do the threads by any chance break? Threads don't usually break after the procedure. However, the strength of the threads may be greatly weakened after the treatment depending on the thread type. The effect varies greatly depending on the type of threads used. Threads used at She's Plastic Surgery are mesh-type ones. They are named The Up Thread Lift. The Up threads pull a wide area of the skin tissue unlike the single ones. Therefore, they bring about more natural lifting effect. In addition, mesh-type thread consisting of 3 single threads is more effective since it can pull and lift a larger area. After thread lift p
