What should I do with scabbing after Fraxel?

Image
Fraxel is a type of laser that addresses such skincare problems as enlarged pores and post-acne scarring.     Since this laser involves applying heat to the skin, there might be scabbing after the procedure. What should patients do in this case?     Scabbing is a normal process that can appear after many laser treatments, including Fraxel.       Scabs usually go a week, and after that, they fall off. It is not allowed to remove scabs with hands at all. It is advisable to wait for some time until they fall off naturally.     After the scabbing, the skin improves, pores become tightened and the texture of the skin becomes smooth.   One should apply sunscreen daily after the Fraxel laser and protect the skin from UV lights.

Melasma laser treatment

Image
Melasma is a dermatological condition causing brown-colored pigmentation on the skin. Melasma appears usually on the following areas of the skin: forehead, chin, cheeks, and areas easily exposed to the sun.     The main factor for melasma development is sun exposure. It is usually common among people with darker skin complexion. There are many laser procedures available to treat pigmentation caused by melasma. Two laser procedures are effective to treat pigmentation in our clinic: fractional laser and IPL. Fractional laser, also known as Fraxel, is a skin resurfacing laser. It makes tiny holes in the skin and stimulates the growth of new cells. After the procedure, the skin looks red, but it recovers in 1~2 days.     Another laser is IPL. It stands for Intense Pulsed Light Laser. This laser involves different wavelengths to remove or lighten the pigmentation in the skin. IPL laser treatment does not require any downtime. However, one can repeat the proc...

How to take care of your skin after eyelid surgery?

Image
One of the most frequent questions that we get about eyelid surgery is regarding post-surgery skincare. They ask if it is okay to do facials or any other skin cosmetological procedures.     You can start having simple skincare procedures from the 2~3rd week after the surgery. However, you should be careful and avoid treatments involving pressing or excessive rubbing on the surgery site. When a great deal of pressure is placed on the surgery site or around the surgery site, it may cause stitch sites to open.     Therefore, you must be very careful when doing skincare procedures.

Mini facelift or Facelift?

Image
The main difference between a facelift and a mini-facelift is in the incision that the plastic surgeon makes. Mini-Facelift is an effective surgical method to correct wrinkles in the mouth corner, saggy jawline as well as nasolabial folds. Since it does not remove wrinkles from the entire face, a small incision is made. The doctor makes a 4~5 cm incision behind the ears inside the hairline. He or she removes saggy skin, pulls it, and removes the wrinkles. There are little swelling and the treatment period is shorter as well in comparison with the facelift. A traditional facelift improves the wrinkles and saggy skin from the entire face. It involves a bigger incision than a mini-facelift to remove the wrinkles. The surgeon excises the skin, tightens the muscles, and fixes it into the ideal position for the sake of the best and long-lasting surgery result. Whether you need to undergo a facelift or mini-facelift surgery must be decided by plastic surgery. You must ensure that you ha...

From when can I wear glasses after otoplasty?

Otoplasty is a cosmetic procedure that corrects the protruding ears. Customers of all age groups, from teenagers to adults, opt for this surgery to be free of their complex of protruding ears.     However, some customers wear glasses because of vision. Therefore, they are curious if it is okay to put on the glasses and from when.     You can wear glasses after the corrective surgery of protruding ears. However, you must be very careful so that there is no pressure on your ears while wearing them.     It applies not only to the glasses, but also you should be equally careful when you put on caps or masks.     After the surgery, we recommend that you avoid a hot bath, sauna, and smoking for two weeks. The reason is that it may negatively affect the result of the surgery and slow down the recovery process.

Nose job with fillers?

Image
Dermal filler is a simple procedure that helps lift the nose bridge. However, most patients do not feel satisfied with filler injections. Therefore, they want to do rhinoplasty for a higher nose bridge.     Is it okay to do the nose surgery after the filler injection?     The surgeon recommends undergoing nose surgery after dissolving the fillers. But before dissolving the fillers, you must let the doctor know which type of filler you had because not all fillers can be reversible. Only hyaluronic acid-based fillers can be dissolved with a filler-dissolving injection. You can have the rhinoplasty done in 3~5 days after the fillers are dissolved.     In addition, if you have done non-reversible fillers, the surgeon must scrape non-reversible fillers and then do the nose surgery.   However, in this case, there might be a risk of inflammation because of the implants.     Therefore, it is crucial to know exactly what type of fillers you did...
