Can I use scar ointment after Lower Blepharoplasty?

Image
Lower eyelid surgery removes saggy skin and fat tissue with a long incision under the eyelashes.  Since the lower eyelid surgery involves an incision, an anti-scar ointment is prescribed.  Since when and for how long should you start applying anti-scar ointment? It is recommended to apply the anti-scar ointment Contractubex 2 to 3 weeks after the removal of stitches.  You may have a tingling feeling on the surgical site may if it's applied earlier.  An anti-scar ointment is recommended to apply for 3 to 6 months, and the scars usually fade away 6 months later. Moreover, after lower eyelid surgery, a Steri strip tape needs to be attached to the ends of the incision for 3 weeks.  It is recommended to apply Steri strip for more than 3 consecutive months even while sleeping.  Lower blepharoplasty | Surgeries | She's Plastic Surgery Clinic (www.shesps.com) #shesplasticsurgery #busanplasticsurgery #nampodongplasticsurgery #lowerblepharopalsty

How to prepare for Lower Blepharoplasty?

Image
If you decide to undergo a Lower Blepharoplasty, then you should follow some rules.  By following the instructions before the operation, you will be able to recover quickly  and significantly speed up the recovery process. Lower blepharoplasty is performed under local anesthesia with IV sedation.  Therefore, you should refrain from drinks containing caffeine (black and green tea, and coffee).  2 hours before the operation, you should not eat or drink water.  A week before surgery, you should stop taking aspirin and tell your doctor beforehand if you are taking some medication.  The reason why you shouldn't take aspirin is that it increases the chance of bleeding and slows down the healing process. If you have high blood pressure, diabetes, and any other illness,  you should tell your doctor beforehand.  It is also necessary to tell the doctor about the identified allergy to medications. #shesplasticsurgerys #busan #nampodong #lowerblepharop...

When can I do sports after Blepharoplasty?

Image
If you underwent an Upper or Lower blepharoplasty, you may have wondered when you can return to your exercise routine. Undoubtedly, you need a recovery time to let the incision areas heal completely. Therefore, you need to follow the following guidelines. Generally, it is advised to abstain from doing sports for 3 weeks after the stitches are removed. This recovery process will let your body naturally heal. You should avoid heavy lifting and doing strenuous activities, as well as doing hardsports for at least 2-3 weeks. If you exercise too much, it can put much pressure and tension on the incisional site of the surgery. However, you are allowed to do a simple everyday walking routine.  If you have any questions concerning the post-operative routine, you need to talk to the doctor and follow his advice.  More about Blepharoplasty
