To help reduce swelling after the surgery, use a cool compress for 3 days, and then switch to a warm one for a week.  Also, try to eat foods that can help with swelling, and take short walks now and then. Fine lines around the eyes cannot be significantly improved during a lower blepharoplasty.  Lower blepharoplasty, which involves creating an incision under the eyelashes, primarily focuses on removing excess skin and fat under the eyes, reducing puffiness and correcting sagging. This surgical approach doesn't directly target fine lines or wrinkles around the eyes. To specifically address fine lines around the eyes, other non-surgical treatments like Botox are more effective. Botox can help smooth out these thinner wrinkles, while deeper wrinkles may benefit from a combination of Botox and dermal filler treatments.

Sometimes, the inner corners of the eyes may appear unnatural after an epicanthoplasty procedure.  In such cases, patients who had the surgery elsewhere may have questions about the possibility of a corrective procedure to restore the eyes to their original appearance. Excessive epicanthoplasty can be addressed through a reconstructive epicanthoplasty.  This procedure not only repositions the skin but also adjusts the inner tissues of the eye corners.  However, it's important to note that fully restoring the original epicanthal fold shape can be challenging. Instead, it primarily enhances the appearance of the Mongolian crease rather than reverting the inner corners of the eyes to their pre-surgery state.
