Will Outer Eye Corners Stick Back after Lateral Canthoplasty?

Lateral canthoplasty is a surgery suitable for small eyes or close-set eyes.

Some of our patients are concerned whether the tissue in the eye corners will stick back together over time. Is there a possibility of re-adhesion after a lateral canthoplasty?

Yes, there is.

However, you don’t need to worry about that because the surgeon always considers the possibility of eye corners sticking back when performing the surgery.

Also, there are many cases in which a lateral canthoplasty and lower canthoplasty are performed at the same time. Combining these two surgeries not only enlarges the eyes horizontally and vertically but also reduces the possibility of eye corner re-adhesion.

We strongly recommend that you consult with a highly experienced plastic surgeon before planning for an eye surgery.
