However, some patients asked us why the lower parts of their eyes seemed asymmetrical after surgery. Why do they look uneven? Does it mean that there were some mistakes during the surgery?



No, it does not. The eyes may look asymmetrical due to swelling after surgery.


Typically, it takes about 1 week for large swellings to go away and 3 to 4 weeks for your eyes to appear natural after surgery. For small swellings, the recovery period is 6 months.



However, if your eyes still look uneven 6 months after the surgery, the possible reason is that the excess fat under one eye was overly removed.


In this case, you should seek advice from a specialized plastic surgeon before considering a corrective surgery.
