The Up Thread Lift & V-RO: Essential for Those in Their 40s

Image
The degree of facial sagging varies depending on age and physical condition. Facial sagging in your 20s and 30s is different from that in your 40s. When you turn 40, the skin elasticity decreases, and sagging skin becomes visible. However, big surgery is not necessarily required at this stage. So, what procedure will work in this case? Enter thread lift procedure. At She’s Plastic Surgery, we offer The Up, a thread lift procedure suitable for those who experiencing sagging skin in their 40s. The results are noticeable and highly satisfactory.  The Up thread lift involves in creating a 0.5cm incision in the hairline above the ear, through which mesh-type threads are inserted for lifting. What is the Duration of Fat Grafting?

Image
Putting extra volume in your face with fat grafting works well.  But people often wonder how long it lasts.  Usually, you might not get the best results after just one session. You might need to do it two or more times, depending on where you want it. Following the initial session, some of the transferred fat cells may be reabsorbed by the body over time. So, in the next sessions, more fat cells are grafted to make up for the absorbed ones. These newly introduced cells are more likely to survive and become a permanent part of the facial structure. Keep in mind that aging or weight loss can influence the results. Yet once fat cells become permanent, they rarely disappear. Therfore, there is noo need to be concerned too much about it.

When Can I Return To Work After Surgery?

Image
Many of our patients engaged in manual labor inquire about the appropriate timeframe to resume work post eye wrinkle surgery or facelift.  If your job entails significant physical activity, it's crucial to determine how long after the surgery you should wait before returning to such labor. In such instances, it is advisable to exercise special caution during the 1-2 weeks following stitch removal. Neglecting this period may increase the risk of infection or reopening of the incision due to excessive sweating. Additionally, it is essential to abstain from lifting heavy objects for a designated period after the surgery.

Can Incisional Double Eyelid Surgery Fix Droopy Eyelids?

Image
Many individuals have sought our clinic's expertise for blepharoplasty to address concerns about their drooping eyelids. They are curious about the potential effectiveness of exclusively opting for double eyelid surgery to remedy droopy eyelids. Is such a solution viable? Addressing droopy eyelids is achievable through incisional double eyelid surgery. Nevertheless, when dealing with age-related drooping eyelids, it is advisable to combine double eyelid surgery with upper blepharoplasty for optimal results. This approach not only enhances the appearance of double eyelids but also widens and rejuvenates the eyes by addressing wrinkles above them simultaneously.

Image
A facelift proves to be successful in eliminating facial wrinkles comprehensively.  Numerous individuals undergoing this procedure often inquire about the requirement of wearing compression garments post-surgery and the recommended duration. It is recommended to start wearing compression garments during the second or third week following the facelift surgery. These garments play a crucial role in improving skin elasticity. For optimal results, it is advisable to consistently wear compression garments for a period of 3 to 6 months after the surgery.

Do I Need to Use Scar Ointment After Lower Blepharoplasty?

Image
Lower blepharoplasty, also known as lower eyelid surgery, involves making a long incision under the eyelashes to remove saggy skin and fat under the eyes.  Since incisions are made during this surgery, you will be prescribed a scar ointment. When should you start using the scar ointment, and how long should you keep using it? It's best to begin applying Contractubex scar gel 2-3 weeks after the stitches are removed. If you put it on earlier, you might feel a tingling at the surgical site. The scar ointment is recommended to be applied for 3 to 6 months, and the scars typically fade away after 6 months. After lower blepharoplasty, you also need to apply Steri strips to the ends of the incisions for 3 weeks. It's a good idea to continue using Steri strips for at least 3 months, even while you sleep.

How to Care for Your Lips after Fillers?

Image
Lip fillers are injectables that make your lips look plump and nice. They fix things like uneven lips, wrinkles, and lips that are too thin or not lively. But because lips move a lot, you have to be careful after getting the treatment.  What precautions should be taken following lip filler treatment? On the day of the lip filler injection, refrain from frequent touching of the treated area and steer clear of consuming lip-irritating foods, especially those that are spicy or hot. For the first week, be gentle with your lips. Don't use straws too much or talk a lot, so your lips keep their shape. Avoid alcohol and smoking for at least a week. Swelling and bruising typically diminish within a week, contingent upon individual body responses.

Can Eye Corners Reconnect after Lateral Canthoplasty?

Image
Lateral canthoplasty is a surgical option suitable for individuals with small or closely set eyes.  Some patients express concern regarding the potential reconnection of tissues at the eye corners after the procedure. Is there a risk of re-adhesion following lateral canthoplasty?  Indeed, there is. Nevertheless, there's no need fto worry about that, as surgeons always take into account the possibility of eye corners reconnecting during the procedure. Additionally, in many instances, both lateral canthoplasty and lower canthoplasty are concurrently performed. This dual approach not only enhances eye size both horizontally and vertically but also diminishes the likelihood of reconnection at the eye corners. We strongly advise consulting with a highly experienced plastic surgeon before considering any eye surgery.

Concerned About Bad Bruises and Swelling after Plastic Surgery?

Image
If you're thinking about getting plastic surgery, you might be concerned about getting big bruises and swelling afterward. People often wonder how long it takes for bruises and swelling to go away after the surgery. Are you expecting a lot of bruises and swelling after your plastic surgery? The time it takes for swelling and bruises to go down after surgery is different for everyone.  Even if it's the same surgery, some people get a lot of swelling, while others don't get much. All surgeries that involve incisions necessitate a recovery period of up to six months or more for the visible wounds both on and beneath the skin to fully heal. To facilitate a comfortable recovery, it is advisable to follow the clinic's guidelines on applying compresses and exercise patience with a calm and composed mindset.

Aftercare Instructions for Under-Eye Fat Removal Surgery

Image
Under-eye fat removal surgery is effective in addressing the dullness under the eyes caused by excess under-eye fat.  This procedure involves creating an incision on the inside of the eyelashes, leaving no visible scars. Many patients are curious about specific precautions to observe after the surgery. What should you be aware of post-surgery? Following under-eye fat removal surgery, it is crucial to avoid bending your upper body for two weeks. Refrain from sudden movements, such as bending down to pick up objects or tying shoelaces, as these actions can lead to increased blood flow to the eyes, resulting in significant swelling in the operated area. Furthermore, it is advisable to avoid touching or rubbing your eyes after the surgery. For the first two weeks, refrain from wearing contact lenses and applying makeup to facilitate the recovery process. Additionally, using a high pillow and sleeping on your back is recommended. While under-eye fat removal surgery is a relatively strai...

Why Is It Important to Skip the Sauna after Laser Treatments?

Image
We always advise our patients to take a break from saunas for about a week after getting laser treatment, even though it's a simple procedure. But why? Well, after laser, your skin is left in an irritated state. Even if you can't see any bruises, there are tiny wounds on your skin. If you expose those wounds to high temperatures, like in a sauna, there's a higher chance of getting an infection or inflammation. For the best results and a smooth recovery, we recommend avoiding saunas or intense workouts for the first week after laser treatment.

Wondering When to Start Skin Laser After Double Eyelid Surgery?

Image
After eye plastic surgeries like double eyelid surgery, many patients are eager to know when it's safe to undergo laser treatment.  So, how soon after double eyelid surgery is it recommended? Experts suggest waiting for about 2-3 weeks post the removal of stitches before starting laser treatment. Beginning laser sessions before the recommended timeframe may increase the risk of inflammation. This also applies to upper blepharoplasty and lower blepharoplasty. To ensure the best results and a comfortable experience, it's crucial to adhere to this recommended timing when scheduling your laser treatment.

My Eyes Looks Different after Lower Blepharoplasty!

Image
Lower blepharoplasty is an effective procedure for addressing issues like excess fat and sagging skin under the eyes.  However, some patients have reported perceiving asymmetry between their eyes post-surgery. Does it mean the surgery went wrong?  No, not really. Sometimes, one eye can heal and get better faster than the other, making them look uneven. Typically, it takes approximately one week for significant swelling to subside, and 2 to 3 weeks for the eyes to regain a natural appearance after the surgery. For smaller swellings, it might take up to 6 months to fully recover. If, after 6 months from the surgery date, your eyes still show asymmetry, the potential cause might be excessive fat removal under one eye. In such instances, it is advisable to consult with a specialized plastic surgeon before contemplating additional corrective procedures.

Liposuction: A Solution to Stubborn Fat and Body Reshaping

Image
Many individuals turn to us after exhausting efforts with diets and exercises, finding it challenging to conceal troublesome areas like the upper arms, love handles, and abdomen, especially as summer approaches. Liposuction emerges as a transformative solution, addressing the root cause of obesity and sculpting a healthy, slim physique. This surgical procedure not only eliminates excess fat deposits but also harmonizes body proportions. By reducing the number of fat cells, liposuction delivers noticeable results post-surgery, providing a lasting solution to weight concerns. Targeting areas resistant to traditional weight loss methods, such as the upper arms, flanks, and thighs, liposuction ensures a more well-defined physique. Post-operative care plays a crucial role in maintaining the results and preventing weight regain. After removing excess fat, it's essential to fill the space left after the surgery for a firmer body. Adopting a balanced diet and regular exercise regimen not o...

Can Neck Wrinkles Be Treated with Non-Surgical Procedures?

Image
Neck wrinkles, a common concern for many individuals due to their stubborn visibility, can be effectively addressed through cosmetic procedures. When the skin on this area loses its elasticity, vertical wrinkles become more noticeable. Fortunately, there are non-surgical options, such as Juve Look and fillers, which offer promising results. Juve Look, formulated with collagen-boosting ingredients, is injected into the neck area to enhance volume and elasticity. Additionally, fillers can be used to target specific vertical wrinkles on the neck. It's worth noting that the procedure for the neck may take a bit more time than in other areas. For optimal results, we recommend undergoing Juve Look treatments at least 3 to 5 consecutive times at 3-week intervals. This regimen can provide results lasting up to 1.5 years or longer. Fillers injections, on the other hand, are typically recommended once every 1.5 years. While surgery remains the most effective solution for neck wrinkles, non-s...

Say Goodbye to Prominent Ears with Otoplasty

Image
Prominent ears, those that stick out from the side of the head, can be a concern. This is especially true for men, as short hair doesn't cover these noticeable features.  Fortunately, otoplasty offers a solution to prominent ears. Otoplasty, or prominent ear correction surgery, involves making an incision behind the ear, reshaping the cartilage for a more balanced appearance. The procedure effectively pins the ears backward, resulting in a smaller and less prominent look. Sutures are typically removed on the last day of the treatment period. Patients undergoing this corrective surgery follow a 9-day treatment period, during which skin-colored tapes are applied to the incision site. It's crucial to avoid irritation to the surgical site, especially when wearing glasses or hats. Additionally, sleeping on your back for a period of time after surgery can aid in a faster recovery.

Does Liposuction Lead to Loose Skin?

Image
Liposuction is a solution for stubborn fat that won't budge with diet and exercise.  Yet, some clients express concerns regarding potential skin sagging post-surgery. Is there a risk of skin sagging following liposuction? Liposuction is a surgical intervention designed to eliminate fat located between the skin and muscle layers. The occurrence of skin sagging is associated with the creation of empty space in the treated area.  If you stick to a healthy diet and follow post-surgery care, loose skin is less likely to be a bother.  After the procedure, wearing compression garments for a period of 3 to 6 months is recommended, combined with high-frequency treatments during the recovery period. Adhering to these post-care instructions not only minimizes the risk of skin sagging but also contributes to optimizing the overall effectiveness of the surgery.

Addressing Eye Wrinkles with Lower Blepharoplasty

Image
Lower blepharoplasty is indeed effective for addressing under-eye wrinkles.  Curious if lower blepharoplasty can help with fine lines around the eyes, too? It's essential to clarify that this procedure primarily focuses on sagging skin and fat beneath the eyes. If you're specifically looking to improve fine lines around the eyes, lower blepharoplasty may not provide significant results.  The surgery involves creating a precise incision under the eyelashes to remove sagging skin and fat while securing inner tissues to the orbital bone. This targeted approach is crucial for tackling under-eye wrinkles and addressing complex under-eye fat issues. For fine lines, Botox treatments can be effective, especially for thin wrinkles. Deeper wrinkles may benefit from a combination of Botox and filler treatments.

Can Under-Eye Fat Come Back After Lower Blepharoplasty?

Image
Lower blepharoplasty is a cosmetic procedure that helps fix saggy skin and extra fat under the eyes.  But, some people wonder if the under-eye fat can come back, and if they might need another lower blepharoplasty. So, can under-eye fat return after lower blepharoplasty? Yes, it can. Even after eye surgery, the under-eye fat might sag again. Our bodies naturally get older, and the eyes show signs of aging faster. If the sagging comes back a lot, you might need another surgery. When thinking about fixing wrinkles or other eye area issues, it's important to talk to a skilled plastic surgeon. They can give you the best advice and make sure you get the right treatment.
