Can I use scar ointment after Lower Blepharoplasty?

Lower eyelid surgery removes saggy skin and fat tissue with a long incision under the eyelashes. Since the lower eyelid surgery involves an incision, an anti-scar ointment is prescribed. Since when and for how long should you start applying anti-scar ointment?

It is recommended to apply the anti-scar ointment Contractubex 2 to 3 weeks after the removal of stitches. You may have a tingling feeling on the surgical site may if it's applied earlier. An anti-scar ointment is recommended to apply for 3 to 6 months, and the scars usually fade away 6 months later.

Moreover, after lower eyelid surgery, a Steri strip tape needs to be attached to the ends of the incision for 3 weeks. It is recommended to apply Steri strip for more than 3 consecutive months even while sleeping.
