When Can I Dye or Perm My Hair After Plastic Surgery?

Many patients ask about hair treatments after plastic surgery, particularly when it is safe to dye or perm their hair.

When is it safe to get hair treatments after surgery?
We recommend waiting at least one month after your surgery, once the healing process is complete and all wounds have recovered.

Hair dye and perm chemicals can be irritating to the skin. That’s why it’s important to allow the surgical site to fully heal before undergoing any such treatments.

This is especially important after facelift surgery, as incisions often run from the scalp above the ear to behind the ear, making the area more sensitive.

For your safety, please consult your plastic surgeon before getting any hair treatments such as coloring or perming after surgery.
