Many of our clients often express a desire to undergo multiple procedures simultaneously, particularly the combination of facial fat grafting and double eyelid surgery.  However, is it safe do combine these two procedures? We strongly recommend scheduling these procedures on separate days, with double eyelid surgery preceding fat grafting.  This recommendation stems from the fact that the face typically experiences swelling after fat grafting, particularly in the forehead and eye area. This swelling can make it challenging for the surgeon to achieve optimal results in creating a beautiful double eyelid crease during the eye surgery. In conclusion, it is advisable to undergo follow-up check-ups with your plastic surgeon after double eyelid surgery before considering a fat grafting procedure.

Lower blepharoplasty, or lower eyelid surgery, involves creating an incision beneath the eyelashes to address sagging skin and fat below the eyes.  Given the incisions involved, a scar ointment or gel will be prescribed. But when should you start using it, and for how long? Ideally, begin applying Contractubex scar gel 2-3 weeks after stitch removal. Applying it sooner may cause a tingling sensation at the surgical site.  The recommended duration for applying scar ointment is 3 to 6 months, with scars typically fading after 6 months.  Additionally, Steri strips should be applied to the incision ends for 3 weeks post-surgery.
