Do Threads Break After a Thread Lift?

Thread lift is a well-known procedure for effectively lifting sagging cheeks, reducing wrinkles around the mouth and jawline. It's popular because it's relatively quick and doesn't require post-operative treatment.

However, individuals considering a thread lift often wonder if the threads can break and whether it's safe to open their mouth widely after the procedure. Is there a risk of thread breakage?

Typically, threads do not break after the procedure. However, the strength of the threads may be compromised to some extent, depending on the type of threads used. The results can vary depending on the thread type.

At She's Plastic Surgery, we use mesh-type threads known as The Up Thread Lift. These threads cover a broader area of skin tissue compared to single threads, resulting in a more natural lifting effect. Additionally, the mesh-type threads, consisting of three single threads, are more effective in lifting larger areas.

After a thread lift procedure, it's crucial to diligently follow post-operative instructions. Avoid applying excessive pressure or engaging in meridian massage on the treated area.
