How Soon Can You Go Swimming after Surgery?

There is a question we receive quite often during consultation with patients who wished to have a plastic surgery in summer. It is about swimming after surgery.

How soon can you go swimming after surgery? Is it okay to let the surgical site come into contact with water for too long?

You should not go swimming until about 1 month after the treatment period.

How long it takes for the incision to fully heal depends on each individual’s body. Normally, it takes about 1 month for wounds to heal. Once your wound heals, you can go swimming without no worries.

However, you should be careful not to irritate the surgical site.
