How to enlarge a breast?
Breast augmentation is plastic surgery to enlarge the size of the breasts. The medical term is augmentation mammoplasty. This procedure is common among women. Some women undergo this surgery to boost their confidence, while others want to reshape the breast due to certain conditions.
During the consultation, you and the doctor will discuss the size of the implant, texture, and appearance. Moreover, he can show the types of implants (silicone or saline) and explain the methods of the surgery. While discussing, ensure that you ask the doctor about the manufacturer of the implants and other important questions regarding the surgery.
Before the surgery, you are asked to submit the results of a mammogram. Based on the results, the surgeon tells if it is safe to proceed with the breast augmentation. As for the surgical methods, there are three ways through which the doctor can place breast implants: incision under the breast crease, under the arm, and around the nipples. One can choose one of the three methods.
Once the surgeon makes an incision, he will create a space for inserting the breast implant. Then the doctor places the implant into that space and closes the incisions with stitches. After the surgery, a patient may experience swelling or pain in the surgery area. However, the doctor prescribes the medications that will help alleviate the soreness and swelling.
A patient can resume his daily activities within a few weeks. The stitches are removed in 2 weeks. Exercising and doing physically demanding activities is advisable in 3 weeks after stitch-out.
