Upper eyelid surgery

If you wish to improve droopy eyelids and get rid of excess skin and eye bags, you might have considered Upper eyelid surgery. Undoubtedly, this kind of surgery is the most effective in terms of results. However, you need to undergo a thorough consultation with your plastic surgeon. Today I will explain to you more about the surgery method so that you learn more about the surgery before making your final decision.

The upper eyelid surgery takes about 1 hour. It is done under the local anesthetic with intravenous sedation. The surgery involves the removal of excess skin and fat tissue. The incision is made in the natural crease. However, if you don’t have double eyelids, they can be formed during the surgery. By the end of the surgery, the incisions are closed with sutures.

During the first week after the surgery, you may have a big swelling. Therefore, we recommend you apply a cold pack to your upper eyelids for the first 2 days after the surgery. Starting from the 3rd day after the surgery, you can apply a warm pack. The swelling will subside with time. It may take up to 2-3 weeks for all the bruises and visible redness to fade away.
