Upper arm liposuction

Most people find it very challenging to remove fatty tissues from the upper arms through diet and exercise. If you have tried many alternatives and they did not work, you can turn to a plastic surgeon for arm liposuction.

Liposuction is a cosmetic procedure that removes the excess fat tissues from a particular part of the body, usually arms, thighs, abdomen, sides, and hips.

The plastic surgeon does not only remove fat, but he or she also tones the arms. As a result, they look far slimmer. The fat will no longer hang down and cause any discomfort.

The procedure is conducted under local anesthesia. The doctor injection IV sedation that makes a patient relax. During the surgery, the patient will not feel any pain because the arms will be numbed.

The surgeon makes a small incision in the upper part of the elbow, and with the liposuction cannula (a tiny tube inserted into the body) removes the excess deposits of fat.

Before the surgery, you must inform the doctor about your medical history and the list of medications you are currently taking. After the procedure, you can return home and need to come the next day for a post-surgery check-up.

Such post-operative effects as swelling, bruising, and redness on the operation site are fine. But that will subside in 2~3 weeks. You can resume your sports activities and exercises in 2~3 weeks after the stitches are removed.

The important thing to keep in mind is that the efficacy of the surgery depends upon how well you follow post-surgery instructions and take all the medications prescribed by the doctor.
