Post-operative instructions after Upper blepharoplasty
If you underwent an Upper Blepharoplasty, there are post-operative instructions that are very important to follow. It is vital to know that the success of surgery depends on both a patient and a surgeon. Therefore, the patients need to care for themselves well after surgery.
If you follow carefully the following instructions, your bruising and swelling will be minimized. Read through the following guidelines and ask our medical consultants if you need any questions to be clarified.
- You should keep your head elevated after the surgery to get rid of swelling.
- You need to take all the prescribed medication. The medication helps to alleviate pain and decrease swelling.
- You should place ice packs on the surgical site for 2 days. Later on, you need to place slightly warm packs and use them for 3 more days until the stitches are removed.
- You need to avoid all the strenuous activities for 2-3 weeks after the stitches are removed.
- Make-up shouldn’t be applied for 2 weeks after the stitches are removed.
The big swelling and bruising may be gone after 4 weeks, the healing will continue for 5 more months. You can see the final result 6 months after the surgery.
