Similarities

Both Botox and Filler are facial wrinkle treatments and offer relatively long-lasting results. They improve the appearance of wrinkles via injections.  

 

 

Differences

Botox is the Botulinum toxin injection that relaxes the muscles in the wrinkly areas. It treats dynamic wrinkles that occur when we make repeated facial movements such as smiling, laughing or furrowing your brows. They usually appear in corner of the eyes, between eyebrows and the forehead area. It temporarily stops the muscle movements and prevents skin creasing. The injection contracts the muscles and softens wrinkles within a couple of days or weeks.

 

 

Dermal fillers are injections that are used to improve the appearance of facial wrinkles. They are used to add volume to specific areas such as cheeks, forehead, and chin as well as treats fine wrinkles around eyes, lips, and nasolabial folds. You can see the results immediately. However, it will take some time for the swelling and redness to go down. One of the safest fillers is the Hyaluronic Acid-based fillers that dissolve within 1-1 and a half years.

 

 

Generally, Botox lasts for 3-6 months depending on the product. However, Filler injections last much longer ranging from 6 months to 1.5 years.
