Things you must know after Fat Graft Surgery

In order to add volume to the area of face which lacks volume, a special surgery grafting or fat transfer surgery is recommended. In fat grafting  surgery, so called "autograft" or auto transplantation is used. What does that mean? It means that fat is taken from one part of one's body and transferred into another. Therefore, for the transferred fat to grow fast and make healthy blood cells in the transferred area, there are a couple of things one must strictly follow. 

After the surgery, for 2-3 weeks, it is necessary that you sleep well and properly. Because that helps and improves the process of engraftment. We also recommend that you sleep on a high pillow since it can help relieve the swelling on surgery area. 

One of the most frequent questions that we get is about make-up. Well, you can apply a simple make-up. However, we put a water-proof DuoDERM band on the operation area for the sake of protection. Although you can apply simple make-up, but it is necessary to avoid massaging or pressing the surgery  area under any circumstances. 

After the surgery, you can easily return to daily life, however what we strongly recommend is to control the amount of physical exercises or any sports activities 3-4 months.
