Diabetes and Plastic Surgery: To do or Not to do?

If you have diabetes, it is highly recommended to check the sugar level in the first place prior to the surgery. Also, it is equally vital to inform the doctor about the medications that you take for diabetes.

Therefore, before undergoing a surgery, it is required to have the test for sugar level and if the result is high, we recommend to seek the advice from the internal medicine doctor and have his or her opinion on whether or not it is possible to have a surgery. The reason for that is that having a surgery with high sugar level can result in serious surgery complications. Thus, it is better to bear that in mind.

Customers who have diabetes should also inform the clinic staff even if they are having a simple non-surgical procedures at the clinic.

Because when prescribing the medications after some procedures, the doctor will be able to take into the consideration which medication to prescribe or not because not all drugs can go into the right combination with medications designed to treat diabetes.
